O. Wesley Long, Esquire – Managing Partner
A lifetime resident of Marshall County, Wes has a true understanding of the needs of the Tennessee Valley. He graduated from Guntersville High School and then attended The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, where he played football under Coach Gene Stallings and Mike Dubose. He graduated with a degree in Finance from Culverhouse School of Business and was awarded All-Academic SEC honors as a student athlete. He moved on to the University of Missouri, Kansas City where he acquired his Juris Doctorate and an MBA in Entrepreneurship. In 2004 he started, Long & Associates and the Title Group LLC in Guntersville, Alabama. His primary focus was real estate transactions, title insurance and business organization development. As the firm grew, he took on more attorneys and took the firm to a broader scope of practice to include civil litigation, business litigation, divorce & family law, collections, estate planning & asset protection and lord-tenant law. Long Flanagan & McDonald now with offices in Orange Beach and Guntersville, deals with numerous clients including First National Bank of Scottsboro, People’s Bank of North Alabama, Peoples State Bank of Commerce, Brand Mortgage, Southern Home Mortgage, and BancorpSouth as well as real estate firms such as ReMax Auctions, Inc. and Lake Guntersville Real Estate. Wes is a title agent for Stewart Title Guaranty Company.
As well as being an active civic leader, he is also a Rotarian, a member of Lions Club, the ELKS lodge of Marshall County, a member of the University of Alabama A-Club, a member of the American Bar Association, a member of the Alabama Bar Association, and a Member of the Alabama House of Representatives. In the Legislature he serves on the General Fund Budget Committee, the Financial Services Committee and the Joint Committees on State Parks and Nuclear Energy. He is Christian and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Guntersville and actively runs and participates in all of his companies that range from real estate management to hotel development to recreational facilities. He has a wife, Jordana and two perfect kids, Mac and Maly Kate.

David Wisdom, Esquire – Attorney
David is a North Alabama native who grew up in Madison County. David graduated from Bob Jones High School before attending Auburn University. While there, he served in student government as the Assistant Vice President of Political Affairs. David graduated in Marketing from the Harbert College of Business where he served as President of the Student Council. David is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. While at Cumberland, David served as the Treasurer for the Student Bar Association.
David is the President and Co-founder of Young Alabama. Young Alabama is a non-profit organization that explores policy solutions to problems that affect young people and strives to promote strong, credible leaders through it’s platform. He is a frequent host on the Young Alabama Podcast. Through his work with Young Alabama, David has been featured on NPR, CNN, the New Yorker and Yellowhammer News discussing various political events from a young perspective.
In 2016, David served as a page for the Republican National Convention. The next year, he was a legislative intern in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, DC. In 2018, David was elected to the Alabama Republican State Executive Committee.
Over his time in Auburn and Birmingham, David has held various offices in the College Republican Federation of Alabama and the Young Republicans. David enjoys playing music in his free time and relaxing on Lake Guntersville with friends. With experience in real estate transactions and governmental affairs, David is excited to join the team at Long and Flanagan.
Hugh M. Flanagan, Esquire – of Counsel
Hugh graduated from Pinson Valley High School near Birmingham and attended The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa where he graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. He continued his graduate studies at Alabama under the JD/MBA program and earned his Juris Doctorate and Masters in Business Administration. Hugh understands the value of hard work and gained that understanding working for his father’s family construction business, Flanagan Contracting, LLC which focuses on heavy earth moving and general contracting in the Birmingham-Metro Area. During his undergraduate and post-graduate years at the University of Alabama, Hugh would act as project manager on large scale projects such as The Summit Shopping Center in Birmingham and the construction of the US postal office in Pell City, Alabama. Hugh’s focus is now on civil litigation, Juvenile Law, Domestic & Family Relations, and Criminal Defense.
After graduation, he practiced with the firm of Porterfield, Harper, Mills & Motlow, PA in Birmingham. There his primary focus was all facets of civil litigation with a focus on insurance defense and construction defect cases. In 2007, Hugh left Porterfield, Harper, Mills & Motlow, PA to join his long-time friend, Wes at his practice in Guntersville. In March 2011, Hugh was appointed as Marshall County Judge to fill a vacancy left by Judge Liles Burke.
Hugh is a member of the Alabama Bar Association, a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, active in the First United Methodist Church and is a Rotarian. He lives in Guntersville with his wife Jessica and their two children.
